Tom versus the Flash number 212 or you want a kid to shoot you, you just got to ask him to do it.

Welcome back for the Flash number 212, the February 1972 issue, featuring a cover by Dick Giordano,

with the entire issue being edited by Julie Schwartz. Our first story in this issue is The Flash in Cartoon Land, written by Carrie Bates, penciled by Irv Novick, inked by Dick Giordano.

We start with Barry Allen opening the door to the Allen household to find that his neighbor is sitting outside, standing outside.

She's not sitting. She's not that

rude. It's Mrs. Barton. In fact, she's got her the little son with her as well. They're having

a bit of a discussion because Mrs. Barton thought that Iris was going to be there. She's not.

It's not a newspaper assignment, though, according to Barry. She's been called up for jury duty,

so it's just like a bachelor weekend at the Allen household. He's going to subway for every meal.

He's just leaving rappers around. He's watching whatever the equivalent back then of the

Major League Baseball Network is, you know, watching old baseball games. That's what I do.

The ladies not around,

which is a lot. No, and Barry, it's probably not anything that, but he's probably not, like,

drinking in the middle of the day or anything like that. Well, Mrs. Martin's disappointed because Iris is supposed to be babysitting her little boy, Dustin, the kid dressed up like a cowboy.

And Barry is sort of like, well, Mr. Martin, like, oh, well, good, because Iris promised,

so I need to go shopping for a few hours, and he's good, and you don't have to worry.

And she pretty much just takes off leaving Dustin with Dustin with Barry. So, you know, Barry's like, okay, well,

I'm going to become friends with him. He gets down, starts to talk to him. Dustin jacks him

right in the nose with a solid punch. It's a little bit like that kid. Is it Mikey in the

in the Charlie in the chocolate factory?

You know the kid with the act of imagination that the fascist Willy Wonka wants to get rid of

as if it's over-ramptuousness and ambition, no stuff like that.
