Tom versus the Flash number 180 or I'm sure we're different back then, weren't they?

Welcome back for the Flash number 180, the June 1968 issue entitled The Flying Samurai

written by Frank Robbins, penciled by Ross Andrew, inked by Mike Esposito, edited by Julie Schwartz,

featuring a really nice cover by Ross Andrew and Mike Esposito.

Word of warning to those who might wanna pick up this issue.

It has aged poorly, and you know me,

I'm not gonna say it's aged poorly

because of some sort of samurai story,

or robots or gorillas,

no, it's aged poorly because Frank Robbins really wants to use a bad

Japanese accent in this issue. It's so bad, it's cringe-worthy. Very stereotypical and definitely

has not aged well. So when you pick this up, don't be surprised by that. We start in and this issue in Japan, a mountainside. There's a man

with a katana. I guess it's a katana. I am not a Japanese sword expert, so correct me if I am

wrong, fighting what looks to be a group of traditional samurai. And he is beating the hell out of them,

cutting their swords and a half, kicking him in the chest, tripping them, cutting them down.

He just starts screaming at all of them, that they're dolts, that they're clemsing, they're

inept, and that they name a way more training.

He then turns to speak to apparently someone who is his leader by the name of Baron Katana,

asking what he should do.

We then see Baron Katana, who is the main villain

of this issue, I guess sitting on a rock or awkwardly squatting on a mountainside.

Baron Katana is the bad guy, the headbag guy, the dude we saw with the sword chopping on the
