Welcome back for the Flash number 148, the November 1964 issue featuring a cover,

Our first story is the day Flash went into orbit, written by John Broome,

We start in a rooftop in Central City, nighttime, strange figure, sort of lurking about,

staring at a nearby office building. It's Captain Boomerang. He's looking at the top of the skyscraper because there's a safe in there that he knows is waiting to get robbed. But how is he going to get it over there? He can't fly. Well, he's brought something that'll help him. It's a boomerang. Yes, whenever he does anything, it's going to be with a boomerang. He sticks to that. He's got a lot of

boomerings. He's got to use them all. He has a flying boomerang, which he can toss, and then I guess

hold on to and it carries him wherever he's going. So we see him bust through the window of this

skyscraper, get up to the safe, open the safe using a tiny explosive boomerang, which he throws from about six inches

away, which seems overkill.

You have all these gimmicks you got to use them.

Cracks open the safe once this explosive boomerang worked.

What he finds instead of the cash that he thought was going to be in this oil company safe

is a note from a gang called

the crooked four i see captain brangry angrily crunched up and apparently this is something that's

happened to him a few times in the last month well the third the third time, as he says, he keeps getting these ideas for crimes. He keeps planning these crimes out. He shows up

and someone's beating him to it. And it's always the crooked four. And they're always leaving a

note. You know, one time he was going to steal the crying cavalier painting, which I would love to
