Tom versus Aquaman Adventure Comics number 270 or yeah, we got Amics.

Welcome back for Aquaman in Adventure Comics number 270.

The March 1960 issue, featuring a cover fence by Kurtzwan, means by Stan Kay,

with issue being added by Mord Weisinger, and our Aquaman story is The Menace of Aqualad, written by Robert Bernstein, featuring art by Ramona Frayden.

It didn't take long for Aqualad to become a possible danger to Aquaman.

We could all see it coming, of course.

You got to love the action panel blurb with the menacing-looking Aqualad carrying a spear

gun. Aquaman frightened. Oh, Ramona, you've captured it. We begin. Aquaman and his young pal Aqualad.

Out on patrol on the back of a whale, they pass a ship, the ship tells Aquaman to stop. They got a present

for him. Sunday is Aquaman's birthday,

which all sailors know. And this ship happens to be the one that has to make the cake for him this

year. Not only do they have to make his birthday cake, but they have to pretend like they did it

out of their own free will and their own sense of goodwill towards Aquaman. It's a deal that nobody knows except the captain's an Aquaman.

If you were just an observer, you would think, oh, they love Aquaman.

It's the thing he does.

He wants them to make him a cake, and he doesn't want them to let it out that he's making

them have the cake, so they have to do this whole

charade that they enjoy it. So they've made him a cake. Aquaman acts shocked, saying thanks, and then we

cut to Aquilad and Aquaman sitting on the back of a whale eating cake with their hand. No plates.

They don't have any plates. Aquaman, he's worried about raising Aqualette,

and he's telling this right to Aqualette. He doesn't even have a home. Aquaman's homeless.
