Welcome back for Aquaman and Adventure Comics number 268, the January 1960 issue,

feature cover pencils by Kurt Swan, by Stan K., with the issue being edited by Mort Wisinger.

And our Aquaman story is The Adventures of Aqu Aqua Boy, written by Robert Bernstein, featuring

art by Ramona Frayden.

We begin with Aquaman, patrolling a stormy sea in the South Pacific.

He sees a little outrigger out in the storm, getting torn apart, it's getting ripped

apart, obviously, who's ever in the boat has been knocked into the

ocean. And we'll drown, because the guy's just flailing around out there. Aquam makes his move.

Well, Topo brings him over. Opel makes his move to grab the gentleman who yells for Aquaman

just to leave him alone and let him drown. He doesn't want to live death by sailing, suicide by sailing,

which would be my preferred way if I was going to take my own life, would be through a sailing

accident. I have it all arranged. If I'm in such a position where I feel the need to take my

own life, it would involve a horrible sailing accident. So this guy's yelling for Aquaman to leave him alone.

Now, is Aquaman just push him out to see to let him drown,

which would be a great story of Aquaman was like,

I believe in your right to choose your own dignified way to die,

which in this case is drowning at sea, and he just lets the guy go. Now, Aquaman brings him on over to a coral reef, and then callously asks him why he's stumbling around. Can he not see where he's going to which the guy yells, no, you fool, I'm blind. He is. Aquaman can't recognize the fact that the dude is blind. Guy explains it many years ago.

He had an accident that took away his sight,

so he retired to an isolated island by himself,

which probably not the best move for a blind guy to make,

and he's been diving for pearls in that time,
