Tom versus Aquaman and Adventure Comics number 259 or does anyone realize a seagull isn't a fish?

Welcome back for Aquaman and Adventure Comics number 259.

The April 1959 issue featured cover penciled by Kurtzwan, inked by Stan K,

with issue being edited by Mortyzing her, and our Aquaman story is The Octopus Man,

featuring her by Ramona Freidon.

I know you're thinking you're going to get an octopus man,

and it's not quite.

It's a totally awesome story,

but this title is also totally cool.

Just maybe not the best fit for this story.

I know. You want an octopus in a suit,

perhaps teaching a class or driving a boat, you're not going to quite get that in this.

So you do start with the action panel, you know, like the sort of tease panel,

showing what's going on, the saddest looking octopus in the world. I'm going to change my Twitter avatar to that face. We begin our story,

though, on a floating laboratory out in the Atlantic Ocean where Roland Peters, an evil scientist,

we know he's evil because he wears glasses and a short-s coat, which is sinister looking. He's performing a bunch of experiments. See, he's creating something called a brainwave transmitter. And he's collected a bunch of fish, and he's using the brainwave transmitter trying to project his thoughts at the fish so that he can

control them just like Aquaman does because everyone knows having Aquaman's powers would be incredibly

lucrative. I mean, you have access to all those pearls, you can ride around on an octopus.

It's a sweet lifestyle, something well worth the investment of all this money and time to duplicate.

He even makes a little joke about the fact that he's going to be the new Sea King. He set up the machine. It's like a big dial that's got

settings like sharks, Aquaman on their seagulls. Again, just you're thinking they're controlling

seagulls, same as controlling fish, same type of thing.
