0:24.4	Our guys today we got a special guest on the podcast. His name is Tom Askel. So he is an
0:28.0	evangelical Christian pastor, author and the president of Founders Ministries in the
0:32.2	Institute of Public Theology. He's also the senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Florida
0:36.6	in the host of the sword and the trial podcast. So I've been very excited to learn about him
0:41.2	and he kind of came on my radar in 2019. And that's really one of the center points of our
0:45.4	discussion today. And that's what's happened inside of the Southern Baptist Convention.
0:49.1	So I've gotten a lot of emails and a lot of DMs over the last couple of years basically since 2019.
0:54.0	Like Kyle, why aren't you talking about what's happening in the SPC? Like do you just not go
0:57.6	to a SPC church? Do you not care about this? Why won't you talk about it? And part of it was
1:00.8	because there's so many layers to what's going on inside the Southern Baptist Convention
1:06.1	that I didn't feel equipped or comfortable with the information that I was finding online
1:10.8	and this hearsay type stuff to talk about it confidently on the show. So that's one of the reasons
1:15.0	that I wanted to get Tom on the show because he was in the middle of everything that was going on
1:20.3	with really the last several decades of the SPC. But especially the last few years,
1:24.0	when we get into resolution nine that was passed in 2019, what he and Vody Bachum were trying to do
1:29.6	this year at the SPC National Convention to try to counteract that. But there's a lot of these
1:34.3	postmodern kind of humanist ideologies that are kind of taking hold with some of the most
1:40.2	prominent people inside of the SPC. And so we talk about that. We talk about if you think
1:44.4	the SPC will eventually disband or split. We get into some other subject matters. But the other
1:49.1	big thing that we talked about is Christian nationalism. So that's another topic that's very,
1:53.4	very big that a lot of people ask me about that I haven't spoken about explicitly at length
