Arnold's Restaurant is the name of a popular Milwaukee greasy spoon, a local hangout for

most of the characters in the popular television show Happy Days, especially Fonzie, Ritchie,

Potsie, and Ralph Mouth.

Arnold's wasn't always called Arnold's, nope it was called Arthur's in the very first

episode, because that was the real name of the restaurant used for the external shots

and they never bothered to change the name for the pilot.

Once the show got picked up however, they changed the name and wrote in Pat Maria's character,

Arnold.

The actual Arthur's Restaurant was located in Burbank, California.

It was used for external shots early in the series, but it was torn down while the

show was still on, which is why they stopped using external shots except for some stock

footage.

Internal shots of the restaurant were shot at the Paramount Studios' back lot.

The restrooms and Arnold's were marked guys and dolls, and Fonzie used the guys' room

as his office, where he often held court in helping Ritchie and the others for the problems.

Fun fact, though the guy's door is on the left, the restrooms open up to the right when

the boys enter.

The sinks and mirrors are on the same wall as the door, meaning the doll's restroom door

is just for show.

The jukebox that Arnold's loomed large in the Fonzie legend, Fonzie was the only one

that was cool enough so that when he hit it with his fist, he could cause it to immediately
