Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for, especially the healing of Olivia and Margot through the intersection of

blessed Pauline Jericho. The Mass is the greatest way to thank God. Now there were all kinds of sacrifices in the Old

Testament, peace offerings, guilt offerings, sin offerings, but the most important

Old Testament sacrifice was called the Todah

sacrifice, not Tada, but Todah.

Todah. Todah in Hebrew means thank you. The Todah was a sacrifice of Thanksgiving. Cardinal Ratzinger in his book, The Feast of Faith, says,

it is critical to understand the Todah sacrifice to understand the mass.

The Todah or Thanksgiving. sacrifice to a

understand the mass. The toda or Thanksgiving sacrifice presupposed a specific situation.

A person was saved from death or fatal illness or from those who sought his life and

then he called together all of his family and friends and celebrated by offering a sacrifice of

Thanksgiving to God which marked a new start, a new existence to his life.

So as I said you would gather your family and friends for a special meal. A lamb would be sacrificed in the temple and

at the same time bread would be consecrated for the meal.

Then the person whose life was saved would take a cup of wine and give thanks

explaining how the Lord saved him and has given him a new beginning and then they would eat the meal.

So the key elements of a Todah sacrifice were a lamb that was sacrificed. Psalms of

Thanksgiving were red or sung, wine, and consecrated bread, the bread of Thanksgiving.

Our Father who art in heaven, hollow would be your name.
