What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the show. Today I've got a little quick tip for you so I was

Gotta be honest I was browsing the internet and I found this awesome picture of a toad that someone had dug up on accident out of their

garden and he's just kind of chilling there he's just sitting halfway in halfway

out of the the soil kind of surveying the scene in the garden. Now toads are, well I should say, can be a great predator in your garden.

They can consume up to a hundred or more insects and slugs every single day.

So a toad house or building a home for a toad can make a wonderful gift

if you're going to give it to someone else or a wonderful way to incorporate toads into the garden. to

to incorporate toads into the garden. So keep in mind, there are some places

specifically in Australia where they are invasive and they can actually

become a serious problem. However, in a lot of. and they are

are wonderful additions that most people don't have in their gardens at all.

And so how do we encourage them to stay in the garden and make their little homes?

Well, one way to do that is to make a home for them. So you can make a garden house or a little

toad house from a plastic food container. You can use a clay or plastic

flower pot. Basically what you want to do is keep in mind that if you're going to

use plastic it's easy to mold and cut to shape but a clay pot or something that is

non-plastic is going to remain a bit cooler in that summer which we're all

approaching right now at least if you're on the northern hemisphere.

So if you're going to make one, let's say you're going to make one from a clay pot.

The easiest way to make one from a clay pot is to lay that pot horizontally on the ground and then bury the lower half in the

soil. Now you have a little cave, right? The second option is to set that pot upside on a circle of rocks and

then you make an entryway to that pot by removing a few rocks.
