Street Journal. Snap says it plans to cut about 1,000 jobs or about 16% of its full-time workforce

as it faces investor pressure over its struggles for profitability.

In a memo to employees today, CEO Evan Spiegel says the cuts were necessary to enable the

social media company to increase efficiency and pursue profitable growth.
