What determines how we respond to the events that happen in our lives?

When we're hit with a negative or challenging circumstance,

what determines how we react to those things?

Are we responding with irritation, with aggression, with sadness, with depression?

In the same way, how are you responding to the positive things that happen in your life?

Are we rising up and experiencing full joy and appreciation of the good things?

Or is there a sense of lack and not enough?

Or that this thing won't last, so why get excited in the first place?

It's strange that when good things happen, we might not experience joy as a result.

But here's what we know today with modern science is that

something like a regular exercise practice sensitizes our brains to more pleasure.

It actually sensitizes our receptor sites for these,

quote, feel good hormones and neurotransmitters.

So it has to do with these receptors.

So we know about something like, for example, insulin resistance.
