Welcome back to the Latin Rouge Cycling Podcast for some good old stage racing.

0:05.0

Paronese and Treno Adriadico double-headed, the first stage of Treno.

0:08.8

We'll do Parrenes first because the sprint just happened and it's fresh in our minds.

0:13.2

And then we've got a lot to talk about, in fact,

0:14.6

for the Toronto Adriatico TT.

0:17.1

Two teams unveiling some pretty wacky helmets,

0:19.8

one in particular caught in particular, called Social Media by fire, as well as the Giro announces a route change

0:27.1

already a couple of months in advance to its what I consider the Queen's stage to Lavinia. So a lot to talk about, but this opening stage was the

0:36.7

Sprint stage in Paris, no complying wind, 178Ks, no hills, and they're just going south east.

0:46.3

And you told me Benji, what are they average for the first hour?

0:50.1

32 kilometers an hour, like 32.6 or something, so not exactly the fastest of run-ins towards the finish, but it was pretty curious because normally you'd think, okay, there's 2K, WIM points and an intermediate sprint, I think, on this park

1:04.8

core, which means that there's something for a breakaway to really fight for, but they

1:08.9

went about it in a really interesting way, as in we just had multiple breakaways in the shape of

1:14.2

first of all yonaz ruchen Matthew bergodo went in the breakway to fight for the

1:18.6

fast K-1 points and rutch they took those but bergodo had some from yesterday if I recall correctly so they were still

1:26.0

close in that classification but they get caught not long after and then Basquely Incorne is the next one who also goes in the breakaway he gets called again

1:34.6

fight breakaway which we're still only like 40 kilometers into the race but that includes

1:39.2

Ruuchch once again bergodot latur and they're fighting for that second K-wam point,

1:43.7

Burgodol takes those and he takes the K-wam lead after this end.

1:46.8

And once again, they get caught.

1:48.2

So the tempo in the stage was not huge and it was looking like it was just going to be a jolly Sunday ride until we hit the sprint but before we get there there was some news from some riders before the stage

2:01.0

the least said that he wouldn't be sprinting in today's stage because he wants to recover from the man crash.
