Gardening today we are going to be talking about spinach the plant that most of us have eaten a ton of and many of us may not have grown

a ton of.

It's really not that hard.

So let's go ahead and get into it.

The first thing we're going to talk about though is our podcast review of the day from Garden Ginger

They say I started listening to this podcast a month or two ago this past year I really got into my own garden and after listening to this show realized the many blunders I could have

avoided. I also got tons of new ideas and tips that helped me tweak the garden. I was

fortunate enough to win one of the potato seed packets and I am so stoked

to apply all the knowledge from the show into having a successful harvest.

So cool, Garden Ginger, I'm glad you won one of the packs of clancy potato seeds.

Okay, spinach, spinnakia olerasia, I don't know how to say it. You guys know I'm bad with the Latin.

It is a fantastic, fantastic green that's been grown since 7th century China if not even longer than that.

So let's figure out how to grow it.

If you are in a warm zone, just avoid growing it in the summer.

It really doesn't like warm temperatures.

It's going to throw up a bolt, it's going to try to go to seed,

and so again, that makes it a spring and fall crop if you are in a

warm zone like I'm I am I just avoid growing it in summer and I grow spring or late winter

I'll start one and then I might even grow one or two crops worth of it maybe even

three as those temperatures cool down in fall and winter.
