and welcome back to monologging i'm mads mitch and i'm your host today and always because, well, quite frankly, this is literally my podcast. So who else is going to host it? Happy freaking Monday. It is Monday, December 1st. I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I hope you're feeling well rested and rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever life might throw at you this week. And I don't think

that that's asking too much of your favorite podcast host. Oh, deep breath. I am so excited for

this week's episode. We are doing a classic. We're doing holiday horror stories and the worst gift

you've ever received. We're getting a little bit of a two for one here today.

I'm very excited. I love, I love a holiday episode and sometimes misery loves companies. So

thank you so much for sharing your misery with the class for all of us to kind of enjoy together.

That's a really beautiful thing. I did batch this episode, so I'm recording it seconds after I recorded last week's episode,

which means I don't have any life updates, but I did ask on the podcast, Instagram story,

for favorite Christmas movie recommendations and also your favorite holiday traditions to maybe inspire

you guys to pick up a new tradition this year or to watch a new holiday movie. So let's read

some recommendations. First and foremost, like my favorite, my favorite Christmas movie is

probably the Grinch or the holiday, probably. I do love Elf, though. I would say

those are probably my favorite. The Grinch, the holiday, and elf. Yeah, those are my top three. Those

are my like must watch every single year. Also, I do, when I say The Grinch, I'm referring to the Jim Carrey version, but I also do love the newer animated one. I think that one's great. The music from that one's great. I do love that. So that's another good one. Home alone, obviously, a classic. You just can't go wrong with the classics. But also I do love watching whatever cheesy Netflix movie comes out.
