I would like to let you in on a very important life hack today.

Okay, this is important.

I learned it early in life and it's something that I'm grateful for

because it's something that I share a lot and it's something that's kind of always in the back of my mind when it comes to decision-making or expressing myself or really seeking out something new.

My friend, the hack, the heck that no one tells you is this.

It's timing.

Timing! Timing! For example... timing. timing.

For example, even in a small dumb way right now.

When is like the wrong joke really inappropriate, right?

It can be a really funny joke in the right context, but if the timing is really bad if it's too soon maybe to a tragic event the joke is off

The joke is the same but the timing is wrong

I've noticed many people make some, I don't want to say errors in their life but maybe make decisions that result in unwanted outcomes because they simply choose poor timing. I'd like to use the case of asking

for more money. Now this is something that I advocate, it's something that I've coached many people on, it's something that I've coached many people on is something that I've always done

specifically as an employee in my former careers which really paid off for me in

lots of ways more than just the money. When it comes to asking for more,

timing, like we just said, my friends, is everything.

Think about it.

If you have an employer or a boss who's going through a really tricky time,

just say that they lost a few clients or the company's having a bad quarter or a bad year or its second bad year, that might not be the timing to ask for a financial increase.

Contrast that to having a very positive quarter, maybe your boss or employee having incredible a sales period or a launch period or coming off the back of something really, really successful.

You are far more likely to win in the right context when it comes to timing.
