| 0:00.0 | Engaging Your Child's Heart, Part 2, on this edition of Truth and Love. |
| 0:12.3 | I'm Dale Johnson, and you're listening to Truth and Love, a podcast of the Association of Certified |
| 0:17.2 | Biblical Counselors, where we seek to provide biblical solutions for the problems |
| 0:21.5 | that people face. And this week, just like last, I have with me our director of training center |
| 0:27.8 | certification, Dr. Sam Stevens. Sam, I'm always delighted to sit and have conversations with you. |
| 0:35.0 | This week, I want us to continue some of the thoughts we have |
| 0:38.1 | from last week on engaging our child's heart. And we talked about that certainly last week |

| 1:29.1 | parents and when you're engaging children in the counseling room, I think always, first of all, |
| 1:35.4 | incorporate the work of the parents because biblically speaking, that child's authority is the |
| 1:42.1 | parents. And so we can't separate the work that we do with children |
| 1:46.6 | from the context biblically of their parents. The child is certainly influenced to a great degree |
| 1:54.9 | based on God's design by the authority of the parents in their home for good, sometimes, or ill. And so we need to |
| 2:03.1 | incorporate the work of the parents. And I think some of the things that we're going to talk |
