I'm Dale Johnson and you're listening to Truth in Love, a podcast of the Association of Certified

0:16.9

Biblical Counselors, where we seek to provide biblical solutions for the problems that people

0:21.9

face. And this week I am delighted to have with us Dr. Jim Hamilton on the podcast, and he is

0:29.1

teaching pastor at Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He also serves as a professor

0:35.4

of biblical theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

0:39.5

Also there in Louisville, many of you may know him from that ministry as well.

0:44.4

He's written a small book that I think would be helpful for you on the topic of biblical theology.

0:50.1

I would encourage you to get that and to read that.

0:53.2

It may be even helpful for a bit of our conversation today.

what we long for and look forward to.

1:10.8

1:21.4

And Dr. Hamilton, I think it's so important for us to not forget the dominant theme in

1:27.3

scripture that we see, that we're longing for a

1:29.4

city that's to come. We're awaiting a time when all that has caused the suffering that we endure,

1:34.9

where Jesus, because of his overcoming death and resurrection, he will wipe all of that curse away.

1:42.3

And we long for that. Before we get into talking about heaven's hope, I think it's important as we wed these two things together.

1:49.2

Maybe give us a brief definition of what are we talking about when we speak about biblical theology?

1:55.1

Well, thanks for that.
