We love to answer your questions on the podcast, and this week we're answering a question

that I think is probably the most common question I get.

There might be a few other questions that could give this one a run for

its money, but this one is definitely up there. And the question comes in the form of, do I have a

problem that is a physical problem or is a spiritual problem? People ask the question because they are curious. They ask the problem because

they're dealing with a struggle in their own life. And they want to know, should I pursue

medical and physical interventions to solve the problem? Or should I pursue spiritual interventions

for the problem? And how would you know? And so we're going to talk about that this

week on the podcast. And what we want to say at the very beginning is the question itself points to a

significant biblical reality. It's a biblical reality that's taught in dozens and dozens of

texts in the Bible, but just one is 2 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 16, where the apostle

Paul says, so we do not lose heart, though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is

being renewed day by day. Right there is a passage in scripture where the Bible says

human beings have two constituent realities. There is a physical

aspect of being a human being and there is a spiritual aspect of being a human being.

And those two things go together and are only separable at death. But in this life that we are all living as we listen to this podcast, we are a combination

of a physical reality and a spiritual reality, and it's impossible for us to experience anything
