It's January 8th, 2019, the first day back from winter break in the Jupiter, Florida

grade school.

The kids in this fourth grade classroom are rambunctious to say the least.

They haven't seen each other since before the holidays, and they're scurrying around

the classroom with backpacks open, showing off their Christmas presents while loudly

discussing what they did over vacation.

The teacher finally gets her students to quiet down and hands out a series of photocopies

for the class's first assignment of 2019.

A header at the top of each page reads,

My New Year's Resolution.

Most of the kids scribble down aspirations to learn a hoverboard trick or to win a game

of Fortnite, but one boy seems more focused than the other kids.

He's wearing a red shirt and an oversized black cap.

As he looks off into the distance, he thinks about his response.

Suddenly, a thought occurs to him.

He presses pencil to paper.

The boy has all the toys he could ever dream of owning.

He wants something he can't get at a store.

Something millions of other people have seen, but he himself has never witnessed.

He finishes writing his sentence on the page, then holds it up, smiling.

He reads it again, this time, out loud.

I want to see my dad win a golf tournament.
