| 0:05.0 | Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. In the Our Father, we pray, |
| 0:13.9 | Thy kingdom come. What is God's kingdom? For centuries, the Jews waited for the Messiah to come. |
| 0:23.9 | He would be the one to establish an eternal, worldwide kingdom. |
| 0:30.0 | They figured it would be like Solomon's kingdom, since he was the last of the great kings over the 12 tribes, only this new Christ's kingdom |
| 0:43.0 | would be bigger and better and more powerful, more soldiers, more wealth and extravagance, |
| 0:50.8 | covering more territory and lasting forever. Then the Messiah came. Christ came. |
| 0:59.0 | And he went about preaching the kingdom of God. |
| 1:02.0 | But nobody saw any of the stuff they were looking for. |
| 1:06.0 | No military force, no riches, no glory. |
| 1:19.3 | And it was so hard for them to let go of their preconceived ideas of God's kingdom, |
| 1:26.1 | even when Christ was about to ascend that his apostles asked him, |
| 1:30.2 | so when are you going to establish that kingdom? |
| 1:36.9 | But of course, he had already established the kingdom. |
| 1:39.9 | He had already gone about preaching. |
| 1:42.6 | The kingdom of God is here. |
| 1:45.4 | It is in your midst because the kingdom of God is here. It is in your midst because the kingdom of God |
