Two days with Kimmy Jack. Should we get to it, gentlemen? Why not? Yeah. It's time for the Leeuilar. Let's get right into it. So Lamar Jackson, he kind of remains in limbo and can't seem to get love from anyone other than O'Dell Beckham Jr. |
| 1:03.6 | Now, there are several teams who could use a former MVP quarterback. |
| 1:05.7 | The Colts may be one of them. |
| 1:13.2 | However, the new head coach, Shane Steichen, he said, no, I'm going to shut down that idea, and he did it in a hurry yesterday. |

| 1:20.1 | There is outside a lot of noise or has been a lot of noise about what other options you might look into, |
| 1:21.1 | Lamar Jackson or others. |
| 1:26.0 | Is it fair to say you're more focused on the draft than any other possibilities right now? Yeah, we're focused on the draft, and I'm going to focus on the guys that are in the building right now. That's where we're at. Okay. Okay, so. Thank you, Coach. We're just very, like, we're focusing on the guys. So what's actually going on here? What are our thoughts on the Colts, just basically shutting down all Lamar Jackson talk? You know what? I didn't take that as such a shutdown of Lamar specifically, but I would say that they are focused on the guys in the building and the guys in the draft. That's what makes sense for the Indianapolis Colts. What makes Lamar so complicated is that you not only have to find the team to trade for Lamar, you need to negotiate that contract with Lamar and come to terms of Lamar so that you're not in the same position Baltimore is in right now. And you've got to do that before you pull that deal off. You're doing that with Lamar directly. But as you do that, the Raven still the chance to match it. Now, last year during the draft, I've mentioned this multiple times. Howie Roseman pulls off a trade with the Tennessee Titans while the Eagles are on the, or the Titans are on the board. |
| 2:18.8 | The trade was for A.J. Brown. While that trade was happening, he was also working out the details of |
| 2:24.6 | AJ Brown's contract extension with the agent. Now, Lamar is representing himself. That is his |
| 2:29.7 | prerogative, and I think the NFLPA is supporting him in those, in those ventures.ures but for this trade to happen you need to have a team come to terms with Lamar but ahead of time they're not going to want to deal with the holdout they're going to have to give up two first round picks they're going to also have to find Baltimore a way to do it and they're also to find the money to do it if you draft a quarterback fourth overall you could pay that quarterback rookie money and have them for the first four years and then the fifth year option if you want. It just seems like an easier process. I know you're saying, well, why would you do easy? Lomares or two? I get it, I get it. Yeah, yeah. Jim Ursay went into this at the league meetings. He was like the way that the economics are right now, as our team is built, it makes a lot more sense |
| 3:07.5 | for us to go a different direction and to get the rookie contract and get the most out of it. Now, they're sitting at four. If Carolina takes a quarterback at one and they've got Stroud and Young as those two names, they might have to do some moving. They might have to trade some picks. They might have to move up to three. they might have to move up to two at their division rival Houston Texans to get their guy, |
| 3:26.0 | but I don't see Lamar being the answer for the Indianapolis Colts. And I feel like every executive from the owner to the GM to the head coach has expressed as much. And I don't think that's a negative on the way that Lamar plays the game or who Lamar is. I just think it's really difficult to get that job done, especially if you can't work out the terms beforehand and come to the compensation. And I just don't think the culture in that game right now. |
