| 0:34.4 | Last week, the Republican legislature passed what amounts to a 12-week abortion ban that |
| 0:39.6 | means a ban on all abortions after 12 weeks, a lot more restrictive than was currently |
| 0:45.0 | in place in the state of North Carolina. |
| 0:47.5 | But then you had the Democratic governor of North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper, actually |
| 0:51.8 | decided to go for a bit of political theater last Saturday by basically holding a rally |
| 0:57.6 | in order to publicly veto the bill that had been adopted by the legislature. |
| 1:03.4 | So that set up an interesting political equation, but just how interesting could it be? |
| 1:08.0 | Well, this interesting, folks, because as it turns out, every single vote for the legislation |
| 1:13.9 | would have to hold if there was to be an override of the governor's veto. |
| 1:18.3 | If even one of the members of the North Carolina Senate had changed his or her vote, there |
| 1:23.1 | would be no override. |
| 1:24.8 | But yesterday, there was an override. |
| 1:27.3 | The legislature overrode the governor's veto of the bill, and thus this particular ban |
