President Biden's State of the Union speech is tonight. High levels of lead were

found in ground cinnamon and scientists are trying to bring back a long lost species.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, tonight is the President's annual speech to a joint session of Congress. He's expected to announce new tax proposals that target billionaires the rich and big

corporations and this year's speech is crucial for Biden. It's a chance for him to

address criticism of his handling of immigration and also the

Israel-Gazah war and it could either ease or worsen voters concerns about his age.

That has become a big issue heading into a long presidential election campaign against Donald Trump.

And there was some other important news from Congress yesterday.

The House approved a bill that would prevent a partial government shut down this weekend.

Now it goes to the Senate. Number two, Alabama's governor signed a bill to protect IVF.

Republican Governor Kaye ivy signed the bill yesterday.

It shields patients and providers in Alabama from legal liability if the embryos they create for

the fertility treatment are damaged or destroyed.

Lawmakers had passed the bill because the state's Supreme Court ruled last month that frozen

embryos are children.

That led to IVF clinics throughout the state halting treatments.
