The Slow News Week is no more.

On Tuesday night, a spree of shootings at three Atlanta area massage parlors left 8 people

dead.

Six of the 8 people killed in the shooting were Asian and two were white, and all but

one were women.

The police arrested 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long of Woodstock, Georgia, who is white

about 150 miles south of Atlanta after a manhunt.

The shooter claimed that the attack was not racially motivated, but that he was a sex addict

who saw the parlors as temptation that he needed to eliminate.

So in other words, the attack was both racist and misogynist.

The county sheriff also said that Long may have frequented some of these places in the

past, and an Atlanta police captain said at a press conference that quote,

yesterday was a really bad day for him.

Last time I checked, a bad day calls for Daniel Powder, not Gun Powder.

To put this incident in context, there have been nearly 3,800 reports of hate incidents

targeting Asian-Americans nationwide since last March, and that women report these crimes

2.3 times more than men, according to stop AAPI hate.

In an interview with ABC News, President Biden said that he supports reforming the filibuster

rule and that the Senate should change the filibuster rule back to requiring senators

to talk on the floor in order to hold up a bill.
