Number one, the world is hotter than it's been in thousands of years. In the US, nearly 110 million people are under heat alerts.

Temperatures could hit 130 degrees in the southwest this week.

And across the globe, heat waves have recently hit Canada,

Southern Europe, and China. Even ocean temperatures have surged to extreme levels,

posing a deadly threat to marine life. The record temperatures are partly being caused by

summer here in the northern hemisphere, as well as the El Nino weather pattern, but climate change

is making these disasters worse than ever.
