Now, let's join Kurt for today's episode. Hey, guys, welcome back. Glad you joined us for today's episode. I left you yesterday in the middle of an argument or maybe better a confrontation

between Paul and Peter. It's actually hard to think about

two great pillars of the faith having a disagreement, and yet it was necessary. Peter had

behaved a bit hypocritically. He had come to Antioch. He had celebrated his liberty with other Gentiles at their

meals. And yet when certain men came from Jerusalem who were much more careful about their

kosher, Old Testament law adherence to dietary laws, Peter got a bit intimidated and he withdrew

and separated himself and only ate with them. And the other Jews, they behaved hypocritically

with Peter. They were intimidated. That's what peer pressure does.

Even Barnabas. And what was happening is far more than just people eating in different places

or celebrating old habits. No, what was happening is the truth of the gospel itself was being

impinged upon. And Paul understood this, because what

was actually happening is they were going into a law-based acceptance before the Lord.

And this is exactly what the Galatians were being confronted with by the Judaizers.

And so as Paul is making his case in the book of Galatians, he is pointing to an example like

Peter, who was the most respected Jew of all, that even people that have great spiritual knowledge and are renowned for their faith
