In federal health news, the Trump administration has abruptly clawed back $160 million

in public health funding in Washington State. It's part of a $12 billion cut in federal grants

across the country, according to the New York Times.

The money had been awarded to states during the pandemic. The Times says the Department of Health and Human Services canceled grants this week that funded infectious disease tracking,

mental health services, addiction treatment, and other health issues. Washington's Department

Times. Specifically, the CDC terminated $130 million in funding for pandemic-related programs
