We are in the middle of an announcement that the angel of the Lord, now we don't know

if this angel is Gabriel, the Bible doesn't expressly say, but it's the angel of the Lord,

the messenger from God that is making an announcement to Joseph.

So Mary has returned from her visit with Elizabeth.

She is now pregnant.

Joseph doesn't know what to think.

He has some options, but the only option really he can think of at this moment is I need to issue a bill of

divorcement. Mary has been unfaithful to me. He's heartbroken. He doesn't want to believe it,

but after all, humanly speaking, what other explanation could there possibly be. And so the Bible says he's deliberating.

He's thinking on these things. And as he thinks on these things, the angel of the Lord appears to him.

And there's a great principle there. We talked about that on Friday. And that is, don't be rash

in your reactions. are typically indicators of what our real

character is because there are there are unplanned circumstances in our life that we

that we knee-jerk to and what we see in joseph is j is Joseph was a godly man, a just man.

Justice refers to the way that we deal rightly with others.
