0:30.6	President Biden made an official announcement on student loan forgiveness yesterday.
0:35.5	It's a lot to take in, so let me explain. If you have federal
0:39.4	student loans and you make under $125,000 per year, then $10,000 of your loans will be forgiven.
0:47.1	And if you received a Pell grant as financial aid when you went to college, then up to $20,000 of your
0:53.4	federal student loans will be forgiven. Of course, if you up to $20,000 of your federal student loans will be forgiven.
0:55.6	Of course, if you make under $125,000 per year.
0:59.9	And if you're married, you both must make under $250,000 per year combined in order to qualify.
1:06.9	If you're currently a student with loans dependent on your parents, this is all going to be based
1:12.2	off of their income. That's not all. The Department of Education proposed a new income-driven
1:18.1	repayment plan where borrowers would pay 5% of their monthly income. The Department of Education
1:24.6	is also setting up an application process for borrowers that will be
1:28.7	available before the end of the year.
1:30.6	So there's nothing you have to do right now until this application process becomes available.
