We're of course going to start with an update on the Afghanistan situation.

Days ago, it was being reported that the Taliban was trying to rebrand as a newer, softer

Taliban that isn't going to be as brutal on women and who wouldn't immediately start

reprisal killings against Afghans who helped the US.

However, outside of Kabul, that message seems to be going somewhat out the window.

The Taliban has already started responding to public protests in at least two cities with

force, firing weapons into crowds of protesters and journalists, and at least two people

were killed and it doesn't injure.

There were also reports that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has officially fled

to the UAE with $169 million in cash in four cars and a helicopter, which naturally

brings up questions.

Where did he get it?

Did anyone help him?

And what ATM holds that much cash?
