I'm Albert Moeller and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events

0:11.8

from a Christian worldview.

0:13.6

So much happening in the world today, but we start out on this addition to the briefing

0:17.8

at the Supreme Court of the United States and with the fact that by the end of this week,

0:22.4

in all likelihood

0:23.4

Judge Katanji Brown Jackson is going to be confirmed as the newest justice

0:27.4

of the US Supreme Court.

0:29.1

0:59.3

to confirm a justice on the United States Supreme Court

1:02.0

1:04.6

1:09.4

majority leader Mitch McConnell, they moved to eliminate the filibuster for nominees to the

1:14.6

United States Supreme Court. And that helps to explain why in four years

1:18.9

President Donald Trump got to nominate three different justices on the Supreme Court, all three of them

1:24.9

confirmed with a Republican majority in the Senate.
