It's Friday, April 8, 2022. I'm Albert Moeller, and this is the briefing. A daily analysis

0:10.9

of news and events from a Christian worldview.

0:13.8

The next justice of the United States Supreme Court will be Judge Katanji Brown Jackson,

0:18.2

that by the decision of the United States Senate yesterday to confirm her to that position after her nomination by

0:24.6

President Joe Biden. And so Judge Jackson will become Justice Jackson, but that

0:30.4

will take place only either at the end of June or in the beginning of July.

0:34.8

1:24.0

judicial philosophy she even actually denied that she had one but nonetheless

1:28.2

she was nominated to that post by president Joe Biden who had made a pledge during the presidential

1:34.8

campaign that he would appoint a black woman if he had the opportunity to appoint a

1:39.4

justice to the Supreme Court. He was given that opportunity with the announcement of

1:43.5

the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer and then he had a choice between

1:48.2

eligible black women by his own definition, his own restriction, who could have been

1:52.4

nominated to the bench.

1:54.1

He chose of those who were well known to be under consideration the one considered to be the
