And sometimes those ways that God uses today, he doesn't use tomorrow. Sometimes the brook dries up.

Hey, friends. Welcome back. We're in First Kings 17 today, just starting the ministry of Elijah.

And the entire talk that we're having over the next few days and maybe even weeks is a talk that includes the study of the kings. And remember, when it comes to the kings, especially the Northern Kingdom Kings,

we're seeing the good, the bad, and the ugly. And primarily, especially among the Northern

Kingdom Kings, we're just seeing bad and ugly.

Why? Because for 250 years, the Northern Kingdom has 19 kings. So Ahab is the 7th of 19.

Every single one of them is bad. Now, in the Southern Kingdom, we do have some good kings. Now, we've seen a couple,

like Rehobam and Abidim, and they were not good, but then Asa, Asa's ruling, Asa's a good king,

and Asa's boy, Jahashafat, he's a good guy, Make some bad choices and we'll see them. But up north,

wow, they are all bad. And yet we still see good in the word of God because good arises

against the backdrop of bad. And God is not mocked. And his word comes out clearly. And these are lessons for us.

Even in the New Testament, we see them referenced. And I want to show you now the way that God

cares for Elijah in these dark days. So let's face it, you and I live in dark days.

We live in days when it seems like wrong is being celebrated as right and right is being

denigrated as wrong. And Bible believing Christians sometimes find themselves out here on this limb

and what are we to do? Well, Elijah just trusts the Lord. He stands for God. He declares the

word of God with boldness and God cares for him in some really unique ways. And I just touched on this briefly yesterday,
