back first Kings chapter 9 today in your Bible this is one of those sections I

think that it would be better for us just to review instead of going through

each and every verse. Some chapters in the Bible are better served, I think, in teaching that way.

And First King's chapter 9 is one of them. Last episode, we talked about Solomon and the answer to prayer.

Remember God had said to Solomon, I've heard your prayer, I've answered your prayer,

but I want you to walk with me in the spirit of holiness.

And Solomon, just because you've built me a big temple,

and just because things are going well

doesn't mean that in prosperity you can forget about me so Solomon keep your heart right

follow the example of your dad David stay in the word of God and good things will happen so it's a

it's a great promise.

A God appears to him this second time,

but it's also a very sober warning as well.

And I've seen that so true in my pasturing over these years,

and that is that persecution has slain its thousands,

but prosperity has slain its tens of thousands.
