SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, has the potential to mutate in every person it infects.

And it often does, of the over 100 million people worldwide who we know have gotten it,

they've provided thousands of mutations.

But we only hear about the big mutations because most of those are fairly benign.
