Why don't you turn to Matthew chapter one?

As we begin the New Testament, I can't begin to explain how happy I am that we have the Old Testament study to sort of prepare us.

You know, it's so important to understand the Old Testament and the New Testament, both,

how important they are. And, you know, it's tricky for me to hear people say things like,

I kind of like the God of the New Testament more than the God of the Old Testament. And I've heard

that from people. And I wonder if God's mad. I don't think so.

I mean, I'm mad, but maybe, you know, like,

you know, sometimes you're like, come on, Lord,

strike them dead, because you're the same,

like, you know, it's like the same God,

the Old Testament of the New and I know that,

but they don't know that, and it's hard sometimes.

But yeah, the blessing of going through the Bible, the Old Testament, with it still fresh in our minds,

what's so great is the Old Testament, there's so much left undone and unexplained when we left off in Malachi.

The Old Testament, if that's all you had and if that's all you knew, what do you do with the Old Testament?

If you don't have the new.

You see, our Jewish friends,

that's one of the struggles of the Jew.

And it's interesting to talk to my Jewish friends

about their Hebrew Bible because there's so much

that they're wondering about and waiting for.
