Summary

Even though things were going reasonably well, and they had no evidence to think otherwise, the people of Israel were still questioning God’s love for them, and their actions reflected that wrong mindset. In Malachi 1, we see how their negative attitudes and apathetic worship are remarkably similar to how we often approach church, and even God Himself, today.
