Jesus is beginning his journey now toward Jerusalem, revealing his plans to the disciples.

Last week we saw in chapter 9, you know, that he's going to go to the cross, be crucified,

die and raise from the dead.

And these are all things he was very clear with his disciples about, but they still really don't understand what's going on.

And that's clear in all four of the gospels.

Jesus would talk about this and they'd say, yeah, whatever. And then they just kind of move on,

and going, man, what's he talking about? But it was almost like they were afraid to ask,

what in the world are you talking about? This crucifixion and dying and raising from the dead.

But they just didn't have the guts to ask him, so they just kind of acted

like nothing was going on. But later on, of course, afterward, they'd realize, wow, that's what he

was talking about. Now, we saw Jesus also send out the 12, and we called them apostles last week

in chapter 9 because they moved from just disciples to apostles because apostolia,

which is that Greek word for being sent, sent out. And so the 12 apostles were sent. And then in

chapter 10, we're going to see a larger group of disciples that are now going to be sent out. And you could, you could call

these apostles because Jesus is going to send them as well. I'll show you what I mean here.

But there's three main things I want you to see here in Luke 10 as we kind of do a quick overview

of the chapter. First, we're going to be reminded by Jesus that we are called to be as a church, as disciples,

as followers of Jesus.

We're called to be ambassadors.

Versus 1 through 24, we'll talk about our ambassadorship.

Number two, we're called to be neighbors, verses 25 through 37, to where we're to love our neighbors, love others, and imitate Christ

in that way of love. That's verses 25 through 37. And then finally, the last part,
