Jesus both often modeled and frequently talked about the importance of prayer – including a lengthy discourse in Luke 11:1-13. As we always do, we're going to pull our text from our upcoming Wednesday night study,

so turn with me to chapter 11 of Luke, Luke chapter 11 for today's study.

That last old hymn we sang today, you know, what a friend we have in Jesus.

You know, the main idea of that song is about

prayer. Oh, what needless pain, you know, we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in

prayer. Prayer is such an important, essential part of the Christian faith and the Christian walk.

And yet I find it to be one of the hardest things for us to do.

And the importance of prayer, when we see what's going on in the world, rather than being

frustrated or talking or rioting or picketing or yelling or anything like that, we should be

as Christians first and foremost bringing everything to God in prayer.

How our nation, the United States of America,

needs to turn to the Lord in prayer.
