Summary

0:04.0	so turn with me to chapter 11 of Luke, Luke chapter 11 for today's study.
0:14.7	That last old hymn we sang today, you know, what a friend we have in Jesus.

0:22.1	prayer. Oh, what needless pain, you know, we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in
0:29.0	prayer. Prayer is such an important, essential part of the Christian faith and the Christian walk.
0:35.1	And yet I find it to be one of the hardest things for us to do.
0:38.7	And the importance of prayer, when we see what's going on in the world, rather than being
0:43.3	frustrated or talking or rioting or picketing or yelling or anything like that, we should be
0:49.4	as Christians first and foremost bringing everything to God in prayer.
0:55.3	How our nation, the United States of America,
0:57.9	needs to turn to the Lord in prayer.
1:00.5	What an important thing.
1:01.5	That is, someone wrote this, I'd like to read,

1:08.7	He said, we have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven.
1:13.7	We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers,
1:19.7	wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have
1:27.0	forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace
1:30.1	and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. We have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts
1:37.2	that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom or virtue of our own.
1:43.0	Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient
