You know, last Wednesday night, Galatians 515, but if you bite and devour one another,

take heed or watch out, he says, because you're going to consume one another.

Boy, that's an interesting word, you know, bite and devour one of them. That's what I see going on

in not only the secular world and all the different

political divisions and religious divisions, but even in the church of Jesus Christ, I see

that problem. And that's what Paul is saying, man, if the church has problems, you're going to

mess each other up. You're going to consume one another. And one of the things that was making

that happen and why Paul actually gave that

warning in chapter five was because there was that legalism, the problem of legalism. You've got to

be circumcised and you've got to become more tuned into the law of Judaism. And there was also

sort of this problem of sin sniffers. You know, there was sort of that self-righteous, well, these Gentiles, you know, a bunch of filthy sinners. And they were saying, you got to clean up your act. It wasn't just the keeping of the law. It was sort of a judgmental thing where, man, you guys call yourselves Christians and you don't even, you know, keep the Sabbath holy and stuff like that.

It was kind of a sin-sniffer, fault finder, sin-slooth sort of attitude that the church had.

So Paul is saying, man, remember, you're saved by grace through faith.

And that's how we know we're a Christian.

Did you receive the Spirit of God by the work of the flesh or by the hearing of faith? And Paul answered that question. Once we know we're saved by grace through faith, then we start to see the fruit of the Spirit. The Lord works into our lives. And we saw that in Chapter 5, the fruit of the spirit last week. So then the question

starts to raise, then, well, how do we treat each other as church people? If we need to realize

we're saved by grace through faith, what if somebody's sinning in the church? Or what if someone

gets caught up in sin? What do you do? Well, Paul's going to help us with that and give us

some answers. You know, obviously Paul's answered part of that question previously when he said,

you know, like in Romans, should we continue in sin and let grace abound? He says, God forbid, of course not.

We don't just go and party down and look for ways to sin since we're saved by grace through faith.
