Summary

Paul continues to expand on the freedom Christ has given and warns against returning to the bondage of the law in Galatians 5. As we study, we see the contrasts between the flesh and the Spirit, and between love and the law, and how walking in the Spirit produces fruit rooted in love and a desire not to practice sin.

We're in Galatians chapter 5. So I'll begin with this question. Have you made the jump from the

0:12.0

pseudo-Christian life of Thou shalt nots and the thou shouts to the real Christian life, which is liberty, joy, and peace.

0:23.9

Really, Brett? Are you going to put it that strongly? Oh, no, I'm not putting it that strongly. Paul.

0:27.9

Paul is going to put it that strongly. The real Christian life is liberty.

1:12.8

He expected them to be done before he got home from work the next day.

1:17.2

She faithfully did all those things, and, you know, he was kind of brutal about it.

1:24.2

And fortunately, the husband died. I shouldn't say that. The husband died. And a couple

1:36.7

and he was kind-hearted to her and not brutal, like her previous husband, with his list of things

1:42.3

to do and all the work she had to do.

1:45.0

But they fell deeply in love and each day together was better than the day before.

1:50.0

That was the way it was.

1:52.0

But after many years of marital bliss with her second husband,

1:55.0

she was going through the attic and cleaning some old stuff out of boxes

1:58.0

and she found one of the old lists of her first husband of the things that

2:03.0

he expected her to do. But tears started flowing down her cheeks because she realized something

2:09.6

that she hadn't really thought about. And that was everything that was on her ex-husband's list
