In 1915, a woman was pronounced dead and then buried,

but she was actually still alive and lived another 47 years.

The story is kind of crazy.

Essie Dunbar lived a quiet life in South Carolina,

and then she died from an epilepsy attack in 1915 and her sister ended up being late for

her funeral which had unexpected results after the doctor pronounced her dead the family began

funeral arrangements almost immediately and decided to hold the funeral services the following

morning but the timing was chosen so elsie sister could travel from a nearby town and say her goodbyes.

But because Elsie's sister was late, so they proceeded with the burial.

But minutes after the whole thing was over, Essie's sister finally arrived and the coffin was reluctantly exhumed

so she could say her final farewells. But when they unscrewed the lid and lifted Essie Dunbar,

suddenly she sat upright and smiled at her sister. The ministers conducting the service panicked.

They fell into the grave. One of them fell into the grave and broke ribs.

Even Essie's own family fled in terror,

believing they were witnessing something supernatural

as the undead woman climbed out of the coffin

and tried to follow them.
