Now I keep many of those on my phone, but sometimes I still, the old-fashioned way, write

it on a little piece of paper and post it somewhere so I won't forget it.

We all need reminders. We all need

helps to remember certain things. We've come in our study to psalm 70. In psalm 70, one of the

Psalms of David, is very short. It's only five verses long. But I might say it this way, it's a little

note of remembrance. That's literally the title. It says to the chief musician,

a Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. It is as if David, under inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

said, I'm going to write a little note both to myself and for others so that we will remember

certain things. Now, we know that it is a reminder because Psalm 70 in so many ways mirrors Psalm 40.

We've already studied Psalm 40.

You can go back and read it, study it again for yourself.

But Spurgeon said that Psalm 70 is really almost like an excerpt from Psalm 40.

It's like David went back to something that had been previously written, to something that

had been previously learned, and he is rehearsing it. He's going over it again. It's one of the

reasons I encourage people to write things down because, oh, we're so prone to forget, aren't we?
