Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Prudence is the art of making good decisions and there are three steps to prudence deliber judgment, and execution.

The first step is deliberation.

This is where we gather all relevant information about the decision at hand.

We want our decisions based on reality, truth, and goodness, but too often

we base them on preferences or feelings or emotions.

So the first thing we need to do is get to the truth of the matter, get to reality.

So we gather all relevant information, especially the teachings of Jesus that have been

handed down by the church on moral issues. We take counsel with those who are more experienced and

knowledgeable in the matter at hand. We should especially take counsel with

It's funny how we will do this when it comes to health problems or really big decisions we have to make. But not often enough do we bring God into all the little

decisions that we need to make, moment to moment, day after day. And he wants to help us in all of these.

Now failure to deliberate is called rashness.

This is the failure to think before you act, to look before you leap, and that can be deadly.
