Very good morning to you. Notting Hill Carnival today is the day it kind of kicks off generally, isn't it?

The bank holiday, Monday. But they don't seem to have had too much trouble so far, presumably, because they arrested a bunch of people before it all started.

Yes, well, it's early doors still. I mean, we still have a full date to go. My friends who live in the area called it Notting Hell Carnival. Yes, well, it's early doors still. I mean, still have a full day to go.

I'm sure. As I always say, you know, in Florida, people board up their shops and their homes and

flee their houses when there's a hurricane about to arrive. In Notting Hill, they do that when

carnival arrives. I've actually got a friend who did exactly that and left London on

Friday morning having boarded up his place and he said we won't be back to Wednesday by which time

hopefully things will have to normal. Dreadful things you have to do. You know you own a property in

London, you know, one of the great cities of the world and you know for one entire, you can't live in it. And then you've got the joy of being out elsewhere,

looking on your door cam and seeing people urinating, having, having carnal, carnal relations

or whatever else is terrible. It really is. So 140 people were arrested on day one,

which means the numbers of people arrested have actually gone up by 40%. But they had a watch list, apparently, of more than 16,000 people. Well, you know, it's things like Notting Hill Carnival that make me think maybe we do need to have facial recognition technology, actually. And that's what they're using, is it? But I looked into, I looked into a couple of years ago into how many crimes I committed at Nottinghill compared to other similar events.

It was over the same, same weekend, same number of people.

Notting Hill Carnival is 35 times more dangerous and violence.

You know, over 350 arrests that year, compared to 10 at the Platinum Jubilee. I know. I mean, there's no comparison. So they arrested 100 before it started, and arrested 140 on day one. And they said that they only reported, and that's the other words, not mine, only reported 15 assaults on police officers. Well, it's quite a lot. Last year, I don't know if people realised this, last year more police were assaulted and injured at the Notting Hill Carnival than in the Southport protests. And yet you had all the politicians decrying and deriding the Southport protests, yet they consistently downplay and ignore the violence at the Notting Hill Festival. I think it's had its day. It needs to be taken off London streets altogether. put it in Hyde Park that's quite close to Notting Hill Festival. I think it's had its day. It needs to either, it needs to be taken of London streets altogether. Put it in Hyde Park. That's quite close to Notting Hill. Everybody says that that's a much better idea. But even better, bring it back to the community. Put it in Brixton and Burgess Park, take it to Hackney in Victoria Park there. Have it ticketed, people pay money to go in, security fences around there, metal detectors, drug searches,

sniffer dogs and have a safe environment. Because one day there will be a bad sort of crushing accident

because when you see the amount of people that are in the streets and it's almost like they're all

being kettled because there's too many of them for the space, basically. The police are genuinely
