Good morning and welcome to Morning Gloria. It's coming up to three minutes past six. It is of course Tuesday the 26th of August. It's the day after the bank holiday weekend. So for those of you who are rising slightly slowly, wondering if you're feeling tired or whether you're just getting a bit older and it seems to take a lot longer to get out of bed.

Never mind. You can stay in bed for a bit longer and listen to the sweet things that are going to come out of this show. Morning Glory, of course, the Home of Commons says. There was only two stabbings and about 450 arrests, which is more than they've made for about

six years.

But nobody died, supposedly, so that makes a great success, apparently, according to the

powers that be.

But we'll be delving into these stories behind the stories to see what really happened and

how the police did manage to reduce violent episodes, if that's indeed what they actually did.

Violence, however, is on the up in other areas of the country.

Sex crimes by foreigners up 62% according to the Times this morning.

And meanwhile, there's an epidemic of violence on trains against women, also from the Times,

although they don't explain why that might be.

We might have a couple of ideas for you.
