that wave of iconic Avalon Hill war games, but I think it is also the one that tends not be

played a whole bunch today, even by those standards, and is maybe viewed as more foundational

than an active game. That's been my impression of it.

You know, before, prior to researching for the show, I have seen that box a million times.

I had never played it.

Where does, where, where, where did Panzer Blitz exist in its own time?

And where does it kind of reside in the war game space now?

Well, I have to say that I have to up front say that I did not experience Panzer Blitz

in its original form because that was the game came out in 1970 and I was three years old.

So I picked it up about seven years later, maybe eight years later, a 77, 77, 78, 79 as a young, you know, young sort of teenager, before teenage years.

And it was to me, to us then, it was a very, it seemed very realistic. It seemed very, uh, I don't know what to call it. It was just a revelation

in terms of, uh, playing board games, right? And I think that part of that, and I think part of what the game

milieu at the time was, was that there weren't a lot of tactical games of this type.
