Tonight, I'm joined by our elite, irregular panelist, Bruce Garrick, and we're here to welcome you to a new year and a new winter of wargaming.

Yeah, happy New Year gamers.

Bruce, I know that you sort of took the lead on today's episode, but before we dive into that in particular, we should sort of set

the stage a little bit. This is now our third winter of war gaming, which I think grew from an

offhanded remark I made to you, I think, about three years ago. And now it's become kind of an

annual feature of three moves ahead. And so I'm curious, like, when you look forward into this winter of wargaming, what's on your

agenda?

What are you really excited to hit and discuss with this year's edition?

Well, I mean, there are a few things.

So I feel that there's a lot of interesting and exciting stuff going on in wargaming.

It happens to mostly be on the board war game side, but there are some interesting war games in the digital space.

I hate saying that word, but I'll use it here, which we haven't touched on.

I'll be very interested to talk about decisive battles from VR design,

and we'll also talk about Rule the Waves, which is everybody's darling game from 2015.

And then even War in the West, which came out a year over a year ago.

War in the East was a momentous release in the history of digital war gaming,

and I think War in the West is a really important release that we need to talk about,

does a lot of things.
