To start out, we welcome first-time guest, Rich McCormick, previously a piece of gamer, and presently a reporter for The Verge.

Hey, everybody. So tonight we're, Idle Thumbs, Nick Brecken. Hey, everybody.

So tonight we're going to be talking about Star Wars Rebellion from Cool Hand Interactive,

which was also known as supremacy in the UK.

And this is actually a game that I have a little bit of history with on this show,

because I think I brought it up on my very first episode of Three moves ahead all the way back in episode 46. It came up in the context

of disappointing games, the type of games that, like, fired a torpedo into the broadsides

of an otherwise healthy franchise. And I remember being pretty harsh in my description of the game,

which is understandable because Rebellion was one of my biggest disappointments as a Star Wars fan.

It was ugly, the battles were ugly and simplistic.

Basically, in my eyes, it was just a garbage game wearing a Star Wars skin.

But then a few months ago, I was having sort of a late-night Twitter conversation with

these guys right here, and I learned there are people who have completely different

memories of rebellion. That sort of made me question which reality I was living in at the time.

So, Rich, Nick, let me give you three choices here to start out.

Is rebellion trash, decent but flawed, or secretly genius?

Can we go with all three somehow, maybe?

Is that all the above?
